Utilizing Multiple Calendars
After you set up your calendars in iOS and allow Timepage access (read more about this process in Setting Up Calendars), your different calendars will appear in Timeline under their respective color. Any calendar that you’ve added in iOS will be added to Timepage, so you don’t have to worry about adding anything new.
Adding, Removing or Editing Calendars
In the instance that a calendar no longer becomes useful in Timepage, you can hide it from the app by visiting Menu, tapping Preferences, and choosing ”Calendars”; alternatively, you can do this by tapping the list button at the bottom of the Heat Map screen. After tapping “Setup Calendars,” tap to show or hide a calendar in Timepage. This action will not add or delete a calendar – it will simply display or remove it until you return to the setting and toggle it back on or off. If you’d like to permanently delete a calendar to completely remove it from Timepage, tap and hold on the relevant calendar in the “Setup Calendars” menu.
In the “Calendars” menu, you can also set a default calendar when you create an event and choose your calendar’s colors. To change a calendar’s color:
- Tap the color next to your calendar of choice on the “Setup Calendars” screen
- Select the desired calendar from your added options
- Pan around the various color choices by swiping directionally on the color bubbles
- Tap the
icon to confirm your changes
After confirming, make sure none of your calendars conflict; if so, it might get a little confusing.
Condensed Events (macOS)
You can choose certain calendars to show their events in a condensed form, reducing clutter on your calendar. For things like a colleague’s calendar or birthdays, you don’t necessarily want to have filling up your schedule.
Condensed events appear as coloured rectangles on your calendar. Hover your cursor to show more information.
In Timepage for macOS > Preferences, you can choose Event visibility for each calendar. Choosing to Condense scheduled events will condense any event with a regular time. Choosing to Condense all-day events will condense events that are scheduled for all day.
Calendars in Heat Map
Heat Map was built to help you identify the busiest days in your calendars, circling days with events and darkening these circles if there are multiple events on a day. This view gives you an immediate idea of what’s coming up, when you have free time, and the days that are better left untouched.
When viewing Heat Map, the default calendar is the sum of all events across every calendar you have in Timepage. Along the bottom of the screen, however, are small, outlined circles that represent each individual calendar – by tapping and holding on this area and moving your finger from right to left, you can see each individual calendar’s events right on the Heat Map. As you move, the calendar will be identified at the bottom.
Below the Heat Map is a running list of a day’s events, which also displays the calendar color and time.
